Previously, she was Leonard Snart from DC TV, aka the Arrowverse. Leonard was the son of a corrupt Central City cop who was in and out of prison. He spent much of his childhood protecting his little sister Lisa from their shithead dad. He wound up in juvie for a while, where he met Mick Rory, who protected him. It started an off-and-on partnership that became central to both their lives. After one of Leonard's planned heists was foiled by the Flash, Leonard looked for a way to defeat him, and that's when he came into possession of his cold gun. It became his signature weapon, earning him the nickname Captain Cold, and he gave a similar weapon, a heat gun, to his pyromaniac partner Mick, now known as Heat Wave. After committing a bunch of crimes and occasionally acting as a reluctant ally to the Flash, Leonard (along with his partner Mick) was recruited by Rip Hunter to travel through time on the Waverider to try to stop an immortal madman named Vandal Savage. When Mick betrayed them, Leonard left him stranded in time, letting the rest of the team think he'd killed Mick. They only found out he was alive when it turned out that the bounty hunter that has been coming for them since they started their mission, Chronos, was actually Mick. And yet with all the trying to kill each other, and Leonard's insistence that he was very much not a hero, Leonard still sacrificed his life to save Mick and the rest of the Legends and destroy the Oculus.

Now she's Gisella De Luca, 29. Gia's parents are super wealthy, and the worst kind of super wealthy, the kind with no real goals or principles other than making more money and looking good while doing it. She grew up with a much older brother Matteo and an identical twin sister Renata; she suspects that her parents had fertility issues and needed outside assistance to conceive the twins, but of course they'd never admit to such a thing because it would imply that they weren't perfect. Their obsessive need for perfection was something Gia never understood but always resented, and it's colored her relationship with all of her family members.

Gia didn't used to be antagonistic just because she could be. When she was little, she just wanted to do what she wanted to do and be left alone to do it. The De Lucas had very specific ideas of what their lives should look like, though, and Gia didn't really believe in following rules just to follow them. As they got older, the pressures got stronger. Renata did her best to conform, and Gia kind of hated her for it. But whenever Renata failed to live up to their parents' expectations, which was inevitable for any sort of human being, Gia went out of her way to piss their parents off in a bigger way to draw all their negative attention. She wasn't going to get their positive attention, after all, and most of the time didn't even want it, so she made it a habit of falling on that grenade for her sister. It continued until they were in college, when Gia finally got so fed up that she stole quite a bit of money from their parents to punish them for the way they were torturing Renata for a single imperfect grade. They didn't tell anyone, of course--that might reflect poorly upon them--but they did cut her off financially and tell her she wasn't welcome in their home. As if she'd ever felt welcome before.

Through the trust fund she got access to at age 25--bless you, irrevocable trusts--and money she's adeptly stolen or been gifted over the years, she still lives a rather comfortable lifestyle. Despite not really having a career--except for occasional sex work and basically being a professional mistress--Gia has a really good head for business. She's a very practical, capable person, knows more about what people do with their money and how than most, and is extremely observant. Gia is snarky and often aloof, and when she heard the news break about the investigation into her parents and resulting scandal, she laughed longer and louder than she had in a very long time. But she'll also die--or, preferably, kill--for the people she cares about. Not that she admits to having any of those. She's a very good friend, and a very bad enemy, to have.

Gia is currently unaware.
